Your tour begins on All Souls Day in Orvieto with a visit to its magnificent Cathedral and the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena. In Assisi, visits to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, the Portiuncula, Francis’ Church of the Little Portion, Basilica of St. Francesco, the Temple of Minerva, the Basilica of Santa Chiara (final resting place of St. Clare).  Next you go to Loreto, the site of the Santa Casa or Holy House, and then continue to San Giovanni Rotondo, and enjoy a walking tour of the area associated with Saint Padre Pio. You’ll drive north towards Lanciano and pray at the site of the oldest Eucharistic Miracle certified by the Church. Finally, you’ll visit Rome, Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Wall, followed by tours to Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Included are visits to St. Peter’s Basilica, (location of “La Pieta”), the Vatican museums and marvel at the many treasures including Michelangelo’s restored frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, as well as St. Mary Major Basilica. You will visit St. Peter’s for an audience with Pope Francis if he is in residence, and then you will see the Basilica of St. John Lateran. Walk to the nearby Santa Scala, which are believed by many to be the staircase from Pilate’s palace in Jerusalem, brought to Rome by St. Helen in the 4th century.
