Begin to depart from the US to the beautiful island of Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon arrival, get the first experience of the Aloha spirit with a traditional fresh flower lei greeting. After identification of luggage, you will begin to board a bus for transfer to your hotel. Once there, you will meet for the Aloha Orientation Dinner and Briefing. Then after you have checked in, you will get to enjoy a historical walking tour of Waikiki.
After breakfast, enjoy a hike that is about 3/4 of a mile to the 760-foot summit of the most recognized mountain in the world, the Diamond Head Crater! Bring your camera for a fantastic 360-degree view of the southeast coast! Down below, you'll see the lighthouse, coral reefs, sailboats, and even surfers on the waves at Diamond Head Beach! Afterwards you will be able to return to the hotel at approximately 11:00am and then have the rest of your afternoon at your leisure for either beach time or any other optional activities that you would like to be arranged.
Begin your morning with a drive to the North Shore of Oahu where surfing daredevils gather from around the world to compete in riding the monster waves that are often taller than most buildings. Sunset Beach is the local favorite and is legendary for its 20 foot waves. The North Shore is also the home of the famous Banzai Pipeline. “Banzai” is used as a toast or a battle cry meaning “go for it”. In the 1950’s a surfer yelled, “Banzai” as he rode a massive wave and the word lives on. When the ocean hits the shallow coral shelf offshore, a wave forms that is so steep that it rolls and makes a nearly perfect tube or pipeline. It is the holy grail of surf challenges. Enjoy some time to stroll or shop through this historical town and enjoy a sweet and refreshing local favorite, shaved ice. You will then begin to depart for Waimea Bay Beach (swimming subject to surf conditions) at around 5:00pm and begin to board buses and return back to Waikiki. Once back to your hotel you will be able to enjoy dinner on your own for the evening.
Come aboard the Kepoikai Catamaran for a beautiful 60-minute sail from Waikiki Beach to the base of Diamond Head and back. Be ready to get splashed! (Dry area on board available). Return to the hotel for some relaxation and then meet to transfer to a local restaurant for dinner!
Depart your hotel for a transfer to Pearl Harbor to see where history was made. *Due to increased security measures, all purses, handbags, backpacks, fanny packs, camera bags, diaper bags, luggage and/or any other type of bag that can conceal an object are not permitted inside Pearl Harbor, the Visitor's Center, or to any of the attractions.* You will head over to the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial Visitor Center and experience the film “Pearl Harbor Story”, the visitor center museum, and board a Navy launch and enter the memorial. You will witness the actual sunken hull where over 1000 servicemen were entombed during the December 7, 1941 sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. Afterwards, you will return to the hotel later on and meet for a group dinner at the hotel.
Prepare to board your bus to take the Honolulu City Tour. You’ll drive past the Iolani Palace, the only royal palace on American soil, as well as seeing the King Kamehameha Statue, Hawaii State Capitol, and go through China Town. On your way back to Waikiki, you will make a visit to the Nuuanu Pali. This is the site of the Battle of Nuuanu, one of the bloodiest battles in Hawaiian history, in which Kamehameha I conquered the island of Oahu, bringing it under his rule. The Nuuanu Pali State Wayside is a lookout above the tunnels where visitors are treated to a panoramic view of Oahu’s windward side of the island. It is also well known for strong trade winds that blow through the pass forming a sort of natural wind tunnel. If time permits you will get to make a visit to the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet or “Flea Market”. This giant event wraps around the Aloha Stadium, home of the University of Hawaii Warriors. It’s the perfect place to buy all of your souvenirs for your family and friends back home.
Upon awakening, prepare to meet in the lobby for your transfer to your Authentic Hawaiian Cultural Experience. Rated Top 3 in Trip Advisor, this hands-on, interactive experience will engage all your senses. See, touch, taste, hear, and feel a special part of Hawaii’s history. Participate in Makahiki games and arts and crafts. Enjoy a delicious farm to table dinner while enjoying the million dollar views. Truly become part of the Ohana during this evening to remember. Afterwards you will be able to return to your hotel approximately 9:00pm.
Enjoy your last breakfast in paradise and then begin to check out of the hotel and be transferred to the Honolulu airport (HNL) for your return flights back home.
