After clearing custom requirements your Perillo Tours representative will greet you and help transfer you by private air-conditioned motor coach to your hotel. After a leisurely breakfast, depart for Pithviers for lunch (on your own) after, we continue to Auxerre (approx 80 miles) and visit the Orthodox Monastery of Saint-Grégoire-d'Arménie-et-Saint-Martin-le-Seul. Continue to your hotel for check-in followed by dinner and overnight accommodations in Auxerre. (B.D.)
After breakfast In our hotel in Auxerre, we visit the abbey of Saint-Germain and the cathedral of Saint-Etienne. Stop for lunch (on your own) then transfer to Bussy-en-Othe (18 miles). Upon arrival visit the Orthodox Monastery of Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Protection. After continue to Bourges (101 miles). Breakfast at the hotel, then spend a day in Bourges and discover the city: the Archbishop's gardens, Jacques Coeur's Palace, the Estève museum, the museum of decorative arts, the museum of the best artisans of France, stroll on the ramparts, Saint-Pierre-le-Guillard church, Notre-Dame church. Stop for lunch (on your own). Visit Saint Etienne of Bourges Cathedral located in central France. Bourges conceals a real treasure as its cathedral listed by Unesco as a World Heritage site in 1992. The surrounding area with the half-timbered houses takes one back in time to the middle ages, a time of glory for the Cathedral and Christianity. Inside, one can admire the rare stained glass windows from the 13th century as well as the tympanum and the sculptures. Over and above the technological prowess of its architecture, this Cathedral, built between the 12th and end of the 13th centuries, is today testimony to the strength of Christianity in France in medieval times. Saint Stephen is seen as an example for the Church to follow, as he is considered to be the first Christian martyr whose death contributed to the conversion of Saint Paul. After breakfast commence with your walking tour and discover the city: the Cathedral of Saint-Gatien, the Beaux-arts museum, the place Plumereau and its medieval buildings, the hotel Gouin. Visit Saint Martin basilica in Tours and its crypt, where the relics of the saint died in 397 lay. Saint Martin, patron saint of France, was born around the year 316 in what is now Hungary. He followed in the footsteps of his father in spite of an early call to Christian vocation and joined the army at 15 years old. Completely devoted to others, one night Martin gave half of his coat to cover a poor man dying of cold. That same night, Christ appeared to him wearing the half of his coat. Even though he became bishop of Tours, his life was but poverty, mortifications and prayer up until his death. After, stop for lunch (on your own).
