DAY 1: USA

Depart for your overnight flight to Rome. Meals will be served on board.

DAY 2: ROME

Welcome to "The Eternal City." Upon arrival and after clearing customs control your Perillo Tours representative will greet and help transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure to help adjust to your new time zone. Later in the day we depart for Mass followed by a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Return for our overnight accommodations. (D.)

DAY 3: ROME - PAPAL AUDIENCE-TREVI FOUNTAIN-BASILICA OF ST. JOHN THE LATERAN -HOLY STAIRS–BASILICA OF ST. MARY MAJOR

Breakfast then we join the Papal Audience, followed with a visit to the Trevi Fountain, (free time for lunch on our own). After, we visit the oldest of the four major basilicas in Rome, the Basilica of St. John the Lateran and home to the relics of Peter and Paul. This Basilica is where Pope Francis was installed as Bishop of Rome, after visit the Holy Stairs. The Stairs are the very steps leading up to the praetorium of Pontius Pilate in Jerusalem on which Jesus stepped on his way to trial during his Passion. The Stairs were brought to Rome by Saint Helena in the fourth century. Celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Mary Major. Church dedicated to Our Blessed Mother, the only Basilica that has kept its original structure and contains a relic from the Manger of the Infant Jesus. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight accommodations. (B.D.)

DAY 4: ROME: ST. PETER'S BASILICA-VATICAN MUSEUM-APPIAN WAY-BASILICA OF ST. PAUL OUTSIDE THE WALLS-CATACOMBS

Enjoy an early breakfast before making our way to St. Peter's Basilica. The Basilica was built on the site where St. Peter, the first Pope and Bishop of Rome, was martyred. Also, it was Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, who was the first Pontiff to visit the necropolis since extensive archaeological excavations were conducted at the ancient site. View Michelangelo's Pieta, the stunning marble sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary holding Christ after His crucifixion. Continue to the Vatican Museums. See the impressive edifices, galleries, and awe-inspiring relics. View the Tapestry Gallery, Raphael Rooms, Sistine Chapel, and Michelangelo's Masterpiece, the restored mural of the Last Judgment. Our last stop on our Vatican tour is at the tomb of Saint John Paul II. Free time for lunch, then we continue on a short journey down the Appian Way, the earliest road of Ancient Rome. The road leads to the Domino Quo Vadis Chapel, the Baths of Caracalla, the Arch of Drusus, the Tomb of Cecilia Metella, and the catacombs of St. Callixtus. The day concludes with a visit to the Basilica of St. Paul, the Basilica is the burial places of Saint Paul the Apostle. We end the day with dinner at a local restaurant before returning to our hotel for the evening. (B.D.)

DAY 5: ROME-MONTE CASSINO-SAINT PHILOMENA SANCTUARY, MUGNANO-SORRENTO

Following breakfast, enjoy our scenic route to Monte Cassino. Passing through the Roman countryside. Monte Cassino, the principal monastery of the Benedictine Order, was founded by Saint Benedict in 530 A.D. Visit the local gift shop, before heading to Mugnano del Cardinale where we visit the Shrine of Saint Philomena. When her remains were brought to the village church at Mugnano from Rome, graces, favors and miracles began to occur among the village people. Miracles continued to occur year after year and in 1837, Philomena was elevated to Sainthood. After, we drive to Sorrento with its stunning panoramic views of the Bay of Naples, with its picturesque narrow streets, parks, villa, and orange, lemon and olive groves. Enjoy some time to relax before dinner and overnight accommodations at your hotel. (B.D.)

DAY 6: SORRENTO - AMALFI COAST - SORRENTO

Breakfast then tour the Amalfi Coast deemed a UNESCO World Heritage site as an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape. We follow the 34 miles of winding roads, making a stop to view the breathtaking panoramic view of Positano. Continue to Praiano where we drive by St. Gennaro Church, to Amalfi, one of the four maritime Republics of Italy, we view the beautiful Amalfi Cathedral consecrated to its patron, Saint Andrew. We stop for lunch before our last stop, in Ravello. Its Cathedral is devoted to Saint Pantaleone, and the Villa Rufolo. View the Gulf of Salerno and its beautiful coastline. Enjoy the landscape on your return to Sorrento, where we enjoy dinner and an overnight accommodation. (B.D.)

DAY 7: SORRENTO - USA

After breakfast and a heartfelt farewell, transfer to Rome or Naples airport for your return flights home. (B.)
